Senior Full Stack Developer (m/f/d)

About PAXLY

We're a B2B SaaS startup in Leipzig connecting packaging buyers with suppliers through an intelligent procurement platform. We've achieved product-market fit with paying customers and are now scaling product and engineering team.

Your Role

As the third engineer, you're "the first hire that shapes how we grow". You'll work across the entire platform – from the Java/Angular backend to AI document processing in Python. You'll build CI/CD pipelines and strengthen our engineering foundations.

This role means ownership and decision-making – not just working through tickets.

Your Responsibilities

• Development across the Java/Angular stack (backend and frontend)
• Python/FastAPI for AI document processing
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
• Increase test coverage and engineering robustness
• Shape architecture and technical decisions

What You Bring

Must-have:

• 3+ years professional development experience
• Strong Java skills (or comparable backend language)
• Angular experience (or quick ramp-up ability)
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• CI/CD, Docker, or cloud infrastructure
• Professional English and at least B2 German
• Ownership mentality and self-direction

Strong Plus:

• Experience with AI coding tools
• Modern AI/LLM experience
• Python skills
• AWS experience
• Startup or small team background

• Backend: Java 17, Dropwizard, PostgreSQL
• Frontend: Angular 16+
• Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS, S3), Docker, Redis
• Emerging: Python/FastAPI for AI features
